![]() Let Blair Eat Cake!November 3rd, 2009
Who doesn’t love a good party? Especially when it’s riddled with scandal. You know I’m a fan. Nate’s cousin Trip was running for an open seat in Congress. The van der Bilts were hoping Trip would continue the legacy of their family name. But sadly things weren’t looking too good for Trip. He was down in the polls and it looked like his political aspirations were going to end on election night. A total Dukakis, it seemed. What Trip needed was a miracle. And what would you know? He got one. While doing some last minute campaigning Trip spotted a guy drowning in the Hudson River. Trip immediately jumped in and pulled the man to safety. The press now affectionately called him the “Hudson Hero.” And seriously, how could you not vote for a brave man like Trip? He risked his life to save a man and would probably (or maybe) risk his life to clean up your parks. Anyway, it looked like Trip was once again in it to win it. Luckily for Vanessa, she caught the whole incident on camera. She was working on a documentary (what else is freaking new?) about the campaign and was at the river when it all went down. NY1 had contacted V about purchasing her footage so they could air it on the news. Vanessa was pumped. But before she gave over her stuff, she wanted to do some editing. And that’s when she uncovered something CA-RAZY. The supposed drowner had not in fact fallen into the river. He jumped in. Could it be? Had it all been staged? I mean, come on, it’s politics. It wouldn’t have been the first time, right?
Vanessa confronted Nate and told him about what she found. She was still going to give the footage to NY1 no matter what. Nate pleaded with her that there had to be an explanation but Vanessa knew what the truth was. It was obvious that Nate’s grandfather was behind the whole thing. He’d do anything to ensure a Trip win. The campaign had suddenly turned shady and it looked like it was up to Nate to get it back into a good light. Meanwhile, Blair and Serena were still on bad terms. Both thought the other needed to apologize and both were definitely not going to do that. Blair realized she didn’t need Serena. She could find a new friend. A better friend (and definitely not one of her NYU minions). Blair spotted a girl named Brandeis at the Bleecker Inn. Not only was she pretty and nicely put together but she was also carrying the bag of the season. This girl would be perfect. Blair asked her to come to Trip’s election party with her and the girl happily obliged. Seemed like S was totally out of the picture. Blair had a new BFF now. Blair wasn’t the only one pissed at Serena. Nate was also not talking to her after the whole Buckley-Carter fiasco. But unfortunately for S, she really needed Nate’s help. She haaaaad to go to Trip’s election party. With her new fake boyfriend, actor Patrick Roberts. Patrick was up for a role in a political thriller so him being photographed being all political would look great. KC told Serena she could either bring Patrick to the party or risk getting fired. By hanging around the election night headquarters long enough, Serena got an invite from Trip. Phew. Her job was saved. At the election party, while everyone was eagerly awaiting the results, Vanessa was approached by a woman. The woman asked her who she had ending up selling her Hudson Hero footage to. Vanessa was confused. She had already sold it to a woman named Caroline Lowe from NY1. That’s when this woman introduced herself as Caroline Lowe from NY1. Vanessa had been tricked! And by Nate, no less. Vanessa was going to have the last word. This wasn’t some high school election where people were fighting over what was in the vending machines. This was the real world. So Vanessa went back and sold the footage to NY1. Of course, everyone was in shock when the news came out: The Hudson Hero was a hoax? The van der Bilts were flipping out. So Nate did what he thought was right. He got up on stage and made an announcement for all to hear. Nate told everyone the entire thing was in fact a set up. But Trip didn’t know anything about it. He was still the most honest man you could find. And then Nate made a shocking confession. He admitted it was he who had planned the whole thing. OMFG!
Blair wanted nothing to do with Serena. Ever again. The two had been growing apart and partly because Blair had a life now. She had college, a real relationship. What did Serena have? Some con artist, jet setting boyfriend? A job where she had to pimp herself out? Serena was drifting from everything good in her life. And quite frankly, Blair was done with her. Hoax or no hoax, Trip ended up winning the election. Yay! And who could he really thank for it? His doting wife, Maureen. Not only had she stood by him throughout the entire election but she was also the person who set up the Hudson Hero fiasco. Whaaaaat? Maureen admitted to William that she was the one who set it all up. And now with Trip and Nate believing it was grandfather who had staged the entire thing, they’d want him out of their lives. Forever. Trip was finally free of his grandfather’s meddling ways. Maureen! Trickster! Serena realized she didn’t like what her job was making her do. So she quit. Goodbye, Publicity, Patrick and KC. Hello, ??? I guess Serena has some decision making to do…And fortunately for her, she found someone she could talk to: Trip. He wanted to listen and boy, did she have a lot to get off her chest. All the while, Olivia was hiding something major from Dan. She had appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and revealed a totally embarrassing story about her new boyfriend. So embarrassing that she was desperate to keep Dan from ever seeing it. And she was so desperate she even agreed to a five hour long game of Scrabble with Dan’s family in order to keep him occupied. You know how much I love Lily and Rufus but come on! But of course, it’s 2009 and the thought of anyone being able to be totally in the dark is impossible. Thanks to Jenny’s open laptop, Dan finally saw the clip. In it, Olivia revealed that on her and Dan’s first date Dan had gone to the bathroom. When he returned to the table his shirt was inside out. His excuse was that he had walked into a spider web and a spider went up his shirt (oh, Dan, you’re a writer, please come up with something better). Jimmy gave Olivia a hard time. That story sounded pretty weird. But Olivia defended him. She still liked him. They had even made it one full month together. When Olivia found out Dan saw the clip, she was worried. And with good reason, Dan took off and left their game of Scrabble. When Olivia received a text from Dan she immediately went to him. She had to apologize. But luckily for her, Dan was not mad. He told her the truth about their first date. He was so nervous that he kept sweating. Dan went to the bathroom to try to dry his shirt with the hand dryer. The reason Dan left the Scrabble game so abruptly was because he had totally forgot it was their one month anniversary. Thanks to Olivia saying it on Late Night he was able to come back to the loft and make a wonderful and romantic dinner for the two of them. Awww. Is Dan Humphrey a good boyfriend or what? Shocking!! Finally! Everyone was beginning to get a little snooze-worthy. But thankfully that all changed with the actions people took this week. Glad to see everybody got a little dirty. Some literally (I’m talking to you, B). Fingers crossed people don’t clean up their acts anytime soon. Xoxo Gossip Girl xo xo Gossip Girl 12 Responses to “Let Blair Eat Cake!”i can’t believe N took the blame for what Trip’s wife did. She really didn’t want William in their lives. N still has the right to be mad at S. Karma’s a bitch b/c look what she got herself into. Well, well, B, looks like you’ve chosen the wrong friend. She was a HOOKER. Everyone but B realized it. God B don’t be so hung over on Valentino’s new 360. Anyway, i’m getting kind of bored w/ C. Not much if a story line. Also a little proud of V. She stood up for wat she believed in but she also lost a friend in N but Trip won, B and S aren’t friends and apparently all B needs is C. Oh and in my opinion S will probably have an affair with Trip. just saying!! Dan è un bravo ragazzo!!!! Credetemi!!!! Besos!!!! Oh my god!!! The cake in the face of ex Queen B! B is so fat now:( When is this show going to rise from the dead? Enough of Hilary Duff. If I wanted to watch her bad acting, I would just rent ‘A Cinderella Story’. Gossip Girl was better without her! Blake Lively and Leighton Meester bring enough star power Van Der Bilt might’ve won but the war ain’t over ’til it’s frickin’ over. Обожаю их=) My favorite episode. S did well!!! She is amazing! But B is so boring now:P blair is amazing.. !!!! ı love shee…!!! I don’t think Blair was right about Serena. She took the job because she wanted to find and make a name for herself. But Chuck was also right in telling her what S should’ve done. However, he should’ve also told B because she was wrong calling her a slut. can’t it be greater, omg, I love GG and I think D, V and Olivia are so funny… It’s getting hot… Something to say?

“The only prostitute at the party was Serena. Whoring herself out by fake dating Patrick.”
So true. No one can out-slut Slutrena, no matter how hard they try. No to mention that Slutrena was so dumb that she had to resort to physical violence as a comeback. LAME
B deserves better than having a total whoring slut as BFF.
